There’s still time to support this important benefit auction – it ends Saturday, September 17th!
Happy Friday to all! I sure hope it’s not as hot and humid as it is in our neck of the woods! Come on Fall!!!
As a few may be aware, I’m traversing the multi-faceted (to say the least) journey of recurrent cancer healing. Hence why I’m not posting a tad more often. I’ve had a yearning for a long time to do even more things that I hope will continue to benefit others; however, have not been in a financial position to do so. Helping others is such an awesome, rewarding feeling! And I’ll have to say that for the most part, it has been strangers to me and us who have offered their support in my personal journey. Since funds are definitely cramped due to such sustained loss of income (7+ years), I felt compelled to immediately respond to something I saw on social media just a very few days ago that is near and dear to my heart and felt it was an opportunity to make a contribution albeit via donating doses of frozen equine semen to the 2016 Dressage4Kids Benefit Auction.
While I’m not sure exactly when, a non-profit organization was founded by Dressage Olympian Lendon Gray. Dressage4Kids.org provides education, connections, experiences and life lesson opportunities for dressage youth in the U.S. One young lady, Alexa Derr who is primarily responsible for creating and coordinating this benefit auction, feels “blessed” to be a part of several Dressage4Kids outreach programs, including the Emerging Dressage Athlete Program (EDAP); the Winter Intensive Training Program held in Wellington, Fl.; the Courtney King Dye Horse Mastership Clinic at Riveredge, Chesapeake City; the Youth Dressage Festival in Sureties, NY; and, the Horse Donation Program. Alexa shares that Dressage4Kids has opened so many doors for herself and many other youth across the country. Alexa is a Region 1, FEI YR/I-1 competitor!
This online auction was created by Alexa to express her gratitude to Lendon Gray and her supporters while also paying-it-forward for future youth in the sport of dressage. How cool is that??? Very cool!!! Last year, $4,000 was raised for Dressage4Kids thanks to this auction! Alexa and friends would absolutely “LOVE TO TOP THAT NUMBER THIS YEAR!”
So, with all of that said, there are some super items and services that have been so generously donated to support this important, critical mission – everything from lessons with JJ Tate, artwork, books, an overnight stay at a cool luxury location to a couple of excellent stallion breeding donations (our boy, Happy Hour being one of the eager donors!).
Really important is that the benefit auction ends on September 17, 2016! So please don’t wait to visit the D4K benefit auction and bid on your favorite items and/or services and help Alexa and her friends make this an even more successful benefit year!

We hope you will support Alexa and her friends by participating in this outstanding program knowing the great opportunities this program affords our youth dressage students – to help them carry on the legacy!
